Vorne Industries has added the ability to connect its most popular displays to Ethernet networks. Customer demand for this ability led Vorne engineers to find a suitable solution for existing display products. The solution involves the use of an Ethernet to serial gateway in the form of an inexpensive, compact piece of hardware. The gateway converts data from the LAN into serial data for use with Vorne displays. In order to make it even easier for our customers to take advantage of the powerful functionality their 87 Series displays offer, a new software application called 87 Express Pro has been released. 87 Express Pro is a Windows® 95/98/NT/2000 software package that allows you to accomplish several tasks. These tasks include:

• Reading and Writing various parameters that control how the 87 Series display operates.
• Real-time polling of variable data that the 87 Series display maintains.
• Sending messages containing the variable information to another popular Vorne display, the M1000.
• Exporting the variable data maintained by the 87 Series display to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

In order to give Vorne customers an easy way to interact with their M1000 displays, a new software application called M1000 Express has been released. M1000 Express is a Windows® 95/98/NT/2000 software package that allows you to accomplish several tasks. These tasks include:

• The ability to create text based messages that can be sent to an M1000.
• The ability to create graphics that can be sent to an M1000.
• The ability to create message lists that are then sent in sequence to an M1000.
• The ability to preview any graphics, messages, or message lists directly within the application (you don’t even need to have the display connected!).

NOTE: In order to use M1000 Express, your display must contain firmware with a version of 2.0.0d2 or higher. If your display does not meet this qualification, contact Vorne about receiving an upgrade to your firmware FREE of charge.

Customer requests for reasonably priced large digital clocks, designed specifically for the demanding industrial environment, led our research team to develop a clock that is ten times more accurate than typical “real time clocks” (like the one in your PC for example).

A super accurate timing crystal combined with precision temperature compensation provide a super bright digital clock with a typical accuracy of one minute per year—and that’s across the entire temperature range of 32 to 104 °F (0 to 40 °C). Available as an option for our 87 Series these clocks are suitable for stand-alone as well as network applications and are available in digit sizes readable to 400 feet and beyond!
