I/Gear and Vorne Announce Partnership to Enhance Plant Floor Data VISIBILITY AT ALL LEVELS OF THE ENTERPRISE
Louisville, KY and Itasca, IL - August 31st, 2004 - I/Gear, Inc., developer of manufacturing execution and performance analysis software products and Vorne Industries, Inc., manufacturer of visual display and data acquisition products announced today that the two companies have formed a technology partnership to deliver cohesive, end-to-end, manufacturing intelligence solutions.
Integrating I/Gear Data Transport Utility (DTU) software with Vorne visual display and data acquisition products gives manufacturers a significant advantage over traditional data collection and delivery methods by providing a best-in-breed solution that seamlessly interconnects plant-floor devices, manufacturing software systems, databases and plant floor visual displays. This unique combination allows manufacturers to deliver critical real-time data visibility to all levels of their enterprise without custom programming, including applications where comprehensive data collection was not previously practical due to the cost and amount of integration required.
I/Gear DTU is a real-time integration technology that captures and transports data at the most basic level of any manufacturing operation - the plant floor. I/Gear DTU software is built around an intuitive “point-and-click” interface designed to reduce data distribution projects from weeks and months to days. Taking advantage of open standards such as OPC, OLE DB, TCP/IP, Modbus, TAP, POP, SMTP, MAPI and more, I/Gear DTU provides manufacturers with a full-featured suite of tools for omni-directional transfer of data at all levels of the manufacturing plant.
Vorne visual displays deliver real-time Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the plant floor via an extensive family of 2" to 12" digital and alphanumeric display formats.
