Unique Challenges
Modern distribution facilities often look like plain warehouses to the casual on-looker but inside nothing can be further from the truth. Facilities typically combine massive freezers and coolers, repack areas and shipping/receiving with miles of complex conveyor systems and automatic guided vehicles.
Distribution warehouses leverage high-tech information systems to keep them running at peak efficiency. Real-time display of a wave pick number reduces costly errors, message displays inform employees, enhanced pick-to-light systems and rate indicators ensure that conveyors are running at expected rates.
The sections below provide a brief list of the more prominent distribution and warehousing applications and the customers we've helped.
Popular Applications
| Pick wave display | |
|---|---|
| APPLICATION |
Once orders are grouped into waves for allocation processing the system can drive a serial display directly or advance the count on a 4", 6", 8" or 12" display for viewing up to 500' and beyond. This ensures that manual pick operations are all working from the same product allocation, greatly reducing order errors. |

| Employee information displays | |
| APPLICATION |
Large alphanumeric message displays keep employees informed of critical process issues such as a diverter that has jammed, a down conveyor, an overheating drive and much more. Displays are easily networked throughout a facility to keep everyone informed. |

| Enhanced pick-to-light/Light tree displays | |
| APPLICATION |
Pick to light systems significantly reduce order fulfillment errors and improved manual pick efficiency. Unfortunately indicator lights are inflexible and not capable of providing dynamic information. Panel mounted electronic displays enhance systems by providing dynamic feedback to employees. |

| Conveyor speed display | |
| APPLICATION |
Large conveyor systems are usually a network of many smaller, independent conveyor systems. Maintaining proper conveyor speed is critical to efficiency and uptime. For example, a slow running take-away conveyor will likely cause jams at diverters. Large digital conveyor speed displays can be programmed to display the feet per minute in green when at target rate and red when down or running slow. |
